Power
There are numerous types of forklifts that are operated by propane gas. Forklifts which utilize propane are very simple to refill. The gas is stored inside a pressurized tank on the truck's back. The propane is pushed into the engine, where it is converted into vapor and the vapor mixes with air. The forklift throttle is used to be able to control the flow of vapor. A spark plug ignites the air and vapor mixture creating pressure which makes the pistons move. The pistons turn the wheels and power the hydraulic pump.
Because the kinds of forklifts that are powered by propane have low emissions and are clean burning, they are best to be utilized in other buildings and warehouses.
Hydraulics
What allows a forklift to lift and move heavy things from one place to another is the hydraulic system. Cylinders, a pump and tubes make up the hydraulic system. The pump forces dense fluid in the tubing and into the cylinders. The build up of pressure pushes a piston, that raises the forks. When the forks are lowered by the operator, the hydraulic fluid flows out of the cylinders and back in the pump.
Steering
Where maneuverability is required, propane forklifts are the most suitable. Not like an automobile, a forklift uses its rear wheels to pivot, that enables the forklift to pivot fast on a tight radius.
